Securityhunter, Inc., located in Baltimore, Maryland, participates in charitable employee matching program Securityhunter was looking for a way to make a difference during the quickly approaching holiday season. After much discussion, Securityhunter chose to assist Union Chapel AME Church in Cambridge, Maryland with their efforts to bring a little holiday joy to some select families in the community. These families include the children and grandchildren of church members that would benefit from a little assistance to make the holidays as bright as possible.
To participate in this voluntary program, employees were given the opportunity to make donations and due to the generosity of Founder Michael S. Rogers and Executive Director, Ross Nelson, the company agreed to donate five additional dollars for every dollar the employees donated. When asked about the program, Rogers stated, “When the company was going through a difficult time, the AME Church helped us reach out to the appropriate people. This is our way of giving back and saying thank you”. Nelson added, “I think every child deserves a little holiday magic, I’m happy that we can play a part in that.” Due to the success of this pilot program, Securityhunter will now accept annual ideas from employees regarding ways to help bring a little joy to the community during the holidays.
